Mountain View Eye offers many options for contact lenses. Your doctor will recommend the best lenses for you based on a complete eye examination and review of your visual needs both at work and play. Most people can wear more than one type of lens, so it’s important to know the choices available and the advantages (or disadvantages) of each.
Soft Lenses: These lenses are comfortable to wear and are replaced monthly, weekly or daily depending on the type prescribed to you. Soft lenses are often recommended for sports and can promote confidence in those of us who do not like to wear glasses. We are able to provide an correction for most prescriptions even if you have not been a good candidate in the past. We use the latest and best lenses for vision correction
Toric Contact Lenses: for small, moderate, and even some high amounts of astigmatism
Multifocal Contact Lenses: for presbyopia so you may not have to rely on reading glasses
1-day Replacement Contact Lenses: for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and multifocal. Daily contact lenses are the safest, most comfortable and most convenient of all lenses.
With the introduction of new materials and lens technology, patients find it easier than ever to wear soft lenses comfortably.
Rigid Gas- Permeable Lenses (RGP): RGP Lenses offer sharp, precise vision and can provide a higher level of acuity based on your prescription. They may require a longer adaptation period compared to a soft lens, but RGPS are a more custom product with extended parameters, and therefore can be a good option to for complex prescriptions or certain eye conditions like Keratoconus.
Regardless of the type of contact lenses you wear, an annual eye exam is required to ensure continued good health for your eyes. Contact lens prescriptions expire every 12 months. Schedule your appointment with Mountain View Eye today.
